While serving as a criminal investigator, he was assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Identification Unit, where he attended multiple specialized crime scene schools. Eric graduated from the Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) program at the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory, located at the University of Rhode Island (URI).
